Project Management

Police and Fire department share a UNIX based system with enhanced 911 and criminal records management applications. System access achieved by personal computer workstations networked from several locations.

Project scope involved developing recommendation for hardware & system software upgrade, managing application vendors, implementation and system cut-over while maintaining all services.

This project involved several critical constraints:

• Hardware platform differences
• Maintain existing physical cabling
• Software database conversion
• Maintain services during system cut-over

ORCA staff overcame all challenges with minimum impact on the Police and Fire departments.
